How do we do a plumbing rough-in?
Rough-in goes smoothly when fixture choices are made before we start.
- Fixture schedule first so rough-in heights are right.
- Coordinate with framing and HVAC so drains do not fight ducts.
- Manifold layout with labelled shut-offs.
- Pressure test of supply and a test of the drain system.
- Photo record of every wall before drywall.

What affects the cost of a rough-in?
We quote a fixed price from drawings or a site visit. These are the things that move the number.
Bathrooms and fixtures
Every fixture adds drain, vent and supply.
Pipe material
PEX, copper or a mix.
Shower systems
Body sprays, rain heads and steam add valves.
Recirculation
A loop adds pipe and a pump.
Layout

Common questions
What is the difference between rough-in and finish plumbing?
Rough-in is the piping inside walls and floors before drywall. Finish is installing fixtures and appliances after the walls are closed.
PEX or copper for a new house?
Both are approved. PEX with a manifold is common in new homes; copper is chosen for exposed runs or by preference. We quote either.
When should I choose my fixtures?
Before rough-in. Valves, tub drains and wall-hung toilets set the rough-in position.
Is the rough-in inspected?
Yes, tested and inspected before insulation and drywall.
